My Furry Children

These are our furbabies so far.  I think we will be in serious trouble when we get a house!

Felix

Felix is a 7 year old kitty who is all muscle and meow!  We adopted him from a local rescue group.  He loves to eat wire and plastic bags, but we don't let him eat any of those treats!  Felix is definitely the dominant kitty in our family.

Maggie

Maggie is our little girl.  She is now 4 years old.  We rescued Maggie when she was a kitten, smaller than my hand.  We had been feeding a stray, Greg.  After Greg finished eating one night, we looked outside and saw Maggie scrounging for leftovers.  We caught both kitties.  Greg unfortunately was very ill with feline leukemia and was suffering, so we chose to help him cross the rainbow bridge.  Maggie luckily had not contracted the illness and was very healthy.  The rest is history.  She is pure sweetness and as gentle as you can get.  I think she's also very photogenic!

Mimi is our first dog and our first foster "failure."  We rescued her at about 8 months old.  She had been chained to her owners' lawnmower since she was a month old.  Fortunately for Mimi, her owners realized that they couldn't care for her properly and relinquished her to me.  Mimi is now about 16 months old and is a spoiled little lady.  After many months, the cats are now tolerating her :o)

We never knew how wonderful it was to have a dog, but it is also a lot of work and expensive if you care for them properly.  Dogs are not for lazy people!  Mimi is a joy, and we wouldn't trade her for anything!

Henry

We adopted Henry in a naive attempt to help Felix calm down after Oscar (our first kitty) passed away.  It worked.  Felix stopped attacking me and returned to his old self.  Henry is now 5 years old and is in love with Maggie.  He grooms her and cuddles with her.  Henry is a mama's boy.  Wherever I go, he goes.  He snuggles into my shoulder to sleep while I am watching TV, sitting in the chaise.  He is the king of headbonks.  Henry also talks a lot, especially at mealtime.  He is so unassertive with treats, that if we didn't guard his, the other kitties would eat his treat before he got a nibble.  Henry is quite an athlete in the kitties' tunnel!

Henry and Maggie are playing with their favorite toy - the Tunnel!

Sadie, my brother-in-law's sweet dog.

This is Gracie!  We started fostering her in July, 2005, and we just couldn't give her up.  She fits in so well, and Mimi loves having her as a playmate.  You can see in the picture that Mimi just had to get in the picture, too.  Gracie is mixed breed of who knows what.  She loves pettings and kisses!
